A homopolar motor - bent wire spins on a battery

This month we will be making homopolar motors! These simple motors are made of copper wire, neodymium magnets, and a AA battery. Kits are ready to be picked up today!

Teen Book Club

The cover of the book "Strange the Dreamer" by Laini Taylor. The cover is blue and gold with moths flying

Now is the perfect time to join Teen Book Club! We just finished our last series A Touch Against the Night by Sabaa Tahir. And are now going to start a duology by Lani Taylor. The first book is Strange the Dreamer. We will meet to discuss Strange the Dreamer on February 1st at 6pm via Zoom. Here is more about the book from the publisher.

“The dream chooses the dreamer, not the other way around--and Lazlo Strange, war orphan and junior librarian, has always feared that his dream chose poorly. Since he was just five years old, he's been obsessed with the mythic lost city of Weep, but it would take someone bolder than he to cross half the world in search of it. Then a stunning opportunity presents itself, in the form of a hero called the Godslayer and a band of legendary warriors, and he has to seize his chance or lose his dream forever.
What happened in Weep two hundred years ago to cut it off from the rest of the world? And who is the blue-skinned goddess who appears in Lazlo's dreams?”
