A 20-sided die with "iREAD 2025" above and "Level Up at Your Library" below.

We’re thrilled to have you join us for SRP 2025! This summer, we’ll be spending plenty of Wednesdays together at Holt Park and the Community Center. Get ready for slime-making, wild water fights, and awesome performances! Check out our event schedule below.

Make sure to sign up and get your free book! Remember, you don't need to sign up to come to our events.

Guess what? We are trying something new this year! Each library event you attend counts as one hour of reading!

FAQ

What are library dollars?

Library dollars are earned for reading 5 hours (ages 6-18) or by completing 10 early literacy activities (ages 0-6). You can use these dollars to buy prizes from the library!

My kid doesn’t know how to read yet. Can they still participate?

Yes! Children benefit from reading the day they are born. Reading with your child and participating in other early literacy activities (outlined in the early reader journal) count for summer reading.

What counts as reading?

Listening to audiobooks, graphic novels, and being read to all count as reading! This is all about building a lifelong love of books.

I haven’t signed up for Summer Reading. Can I still come to the events?

Yes! All Summer Reading events are FREE for everyone; you don’t even need a library card! We do encourage you to register and get your FREE book just for signing up! No RSVPs required.

How long do programs and events last?

We aim for 60-minute programs, but sometimes programs run slightly shorter or longer.

How are prizes awarded?

Every time you turn in a completed journal at the library, you will receive one library dollar. These can be spent on cool prizes that you can find at the Library Store. Think of it as turning in tickets at an arcade!

Want free Pizza?

This year, if you sign up and turn in just one complete journal, you get a coupon for a personal pizza at the Springfield Papa’s Pizza on Main Street.
