Friends of the Creswell Library Spring Book Sale runs Monday, May 4th - Saturday, May 30th

The Creswell Library parking lot will be closed on Saturday, 5/9, for the City of Creswell's Farm to Table Festival. 

The Creswell Library will be closed on Monday, 5/25, in observance of Memorial Day.

Book Sale! May 4th - May 30th

The Friends of the Creswell Library Book Sale begins on May 4th and runs through May 30th. Same great prices as always! 

Farm to Table Festival - Saturday, 5/9, 11:00am - 2:00pm

We are partnering with the City of Creswell to host a celebration of local farmers and foods! Check in with the City of Creswell for more details as we get closer.  Please be aware that our parking lot will be unavailable for use on Saturday, 5/9. 

Blood Drive! - Monday, 5/11, 5:00pm

Each Spring, when the sun comes out, blood donations drop, but there’s still a need for blood. Consider sharing a little sunshine with patients near you by making a blood donation. When you donate with Bloodworks, you’re giving a critical boost to patients undergoing surgeries, traumas, and cancer treatments. As a donor, you are also encouraging our local community to step up and donate blood every 56 days, rain or shine.

Please make a blood donation appointment for Monday, May 11 at the Creswell Library.

Kitchen Capers: Sauces and Marinades - Tuesday, 5/12, 5:00pm

They say the sauce makes the dish, and for good reason. Come discover how sauces and marinades can liven up your nightly dinners. 

Literary Art: Ozobots - Wednesday, 5/13, 5pm

We are mixing things up this month. We will be playing with robots! Join us for a fun, simple evening of playing with little robots! IT IS SIMPLE AND FUN! I PROMISE YOU CAN DO IT!

Tech Help Office Hours - Thursday, 5/14, 1:00 - 2:00pm

Do you need help with a new phone? Stuck setting up your email? Can't get your Bluetooth headphones to work? Don't know what Bluetooth is, but want to know? Swing by for help with your tech, questions, and problems. We won't be able to help you with everything, but we will do our best!

Shelf Indulgence: Book Club - Monday, 5/18, at 5:00pm in-person and via Zoom

We select a new book to read each month, and we make an effort to read from different genres. We will be reading and chatting about The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune on May 18th.  Email nick@creswell-library.org or call him at the library at 541-895-3053 to join.

Beginner Sewing: Learn Your Machine & Make a Mini Quilt - Tuesday, 5/19, 5:00pm

New to sewing or unsure how to use your machine? This hands-on class will walk you through the basics. Participants are encouraged to bring their own sewing machine so they can learn on the equipment they'll use at home. If you plan to bring a machine, please make sure it powers on and can sew a basic stich. If you're unsure, you're still welcome to attend - a limited number of machines will be available to share. 

You'll practice by sewing a simple quilt block, and if time allows, turn it into a small mug rug (mini quilt_ using an easy finishing technique. No experience required. Materials will be provided. Creswell Library Budget Hearing - Tuesday, 5/26, 6pm. 

The Creswell Library (Lane Library District) will be holding its annual Budget Hearing starting at 6pm. You will be able to access the budget approved by the Lane Library District Budget Committee in the library and on our website by May 5th. You can email nick@creswell-library.org if you would like to receive a copy as soon as it is complete. The Library Board will hold its regular May meeting after the Budget Hearing. 

Chair Yoga - Mondays 8:55am - 9:55am 

No Chair Yoga on May 25th.

Please bring 2 beach towels to help support some of our yoga activities.

Chair Yoga, hosted by the amazing Deanna Hoover. Chair Yoga features 20 minutes of yoga in a chair, 20 minutes standing with a chair for support, and 20 minutes of light mat yoga. Please bring your own mat and two yoga blocks if you have them. 

The first Monday of the month, we will have coffee and tea available for people to sit down and chat with Deanna and others from the yoga group.

Walking Group - Fridays at 9:30am

Did you know that the library has been working with OHSU for two years on a walking group study? During the study the group wasn't open to the public, but the study is done, and we can now welcome everyone at our walking group! Join a cheerful group of walkers for Friday morning strolls. Each walk is usually under an hour and over flat land. Sometimes we go a little long, but more often we go a little short. Typically, our walks start at one of three locations: the library and the surrounding neighborhoods, Tractor Supply parking lot over to and through Garden Lake Park, and Lynx Hollow Park and the beautiful paths there. Email Nick to get on the group email list and learn the location of the next walk and any weather-related or other location changes.

 

Knitting Group - Every Saturday at 11am

Every Saturday at 11 our local knitting expert Sandra is at the library, she can help with pretty much any knitting question you might have, or you can also just come in and hang out and work on a project!

Coffee and Books - Tuesdays at 11:00am

Join us every Tuesday morning at 11am for coffee and books at our book club. No need to stress about finding the book club book and staying on pace with everyone else. Read what you want at your own speed and share with us when you are ready. Everyone who comes talks about the books they are reading or have recently finished. No pressure to share if you just want to join us to get ideas about new books to read.
