Come on down and shop our Book Sale! It will be held in the library for three weeks, with the final day being the Saturday after Thanksgiving. That will be on the 28th and 29th of November.

Creswell Library's "Battle Of the Books for Adults!" February 7, 2026, 6:30pm. Features 8 book covers.

BOBA (Battle Of the Books for Adults) Saturday, February 7th, 2026

Battle of the Books for Adults (BOBA)! Are you tired of the kids having all the fun reading and competing in
Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB)? Do they come home bragging about the awesome books they are
reading and gloating about their victories? Well, adults, your time has come. Join us for our first ever
BOBA event at the Creswell Library.

What is BOBA?

BOBA is a little like OBOB. If you don’t know what OBOB is don’t despair! You will form a team of up to
four members. Each team will be responsible for reading all 8 of the books on our BOBA list (see below).
Then, on February 7th, 2026, we will host a trivia battle night.

What does the battle look like?

Unlike OBOB, you will not be battling another team. Instead, all teams will have a small whiteboard at
their table. Everyone will be asked the same question and be given 20 seconds to discuss their answer
with their team and write their answer on a whiteboard. After 20 seconds each team will be required to
raise their whiteboard above their head so we can check your answers and tally the scores. Perfect
spelling will not be required, however, we have to be able to read your handwriting and understand what
you are trying to spell. At the end of the night, we will have prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams.

What are the questions like?

We will be using a similar format to OBOB. Most questions will be either Content Questions or In Which
Book Questions.

Content Questions ask a specific question from a book. You will be given the title of the book and will
need to provide a very specific answer. For example, in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, what is the
name of the island where Huck and Jim begin their journey together? The answer would be “Jackson” or
“Jackson Island.” We would not accept “that big island in the Mississippi where Huck and Jim meet up.”

In Which Book questions, will always have an answer that is the title of the book and the author. An
example would be: in which book do the characters meet a Duke and a King? The answer would be “The
Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain.”

We have a couple other ideas for question formats but don’t want to give too much away. You can expect
the vast majority of questions to be in one of the above two formats.

How do I get started?

Find and form your team! A team can have no more than four members. Once you have your team, pick an awesome team name and use this link to register.

Once you are registered, you will have to work with your team to decide how to read the books. Do you all
want to be responsible for reading two of the books? Four of the books? All of the books? At a minimum,
I’d recommend that you make sure someone is reading each book.

You can also sign up as a solo. When you sign up solo, on trivia night, we will place you at a table with other solo sign-ups, or, if you really want to be a team of one, we will let you do your own thing.

Walking Group - Fridays at 9:30am

Did you know that the library has been working with OHSU for two years on a walking group study? During the study the group wasn't open to the public but the study is done and we can now welcome everyone at our walking group! Join a cheerful group of walkers for Friday morning strolls. Each walk is usually under an hour and over flat land. Sometimes we go a little long, but more often we go a little short. Typically, our walks start at one of three locations: the library and the surrounding neighborhoods, Tractor Supply parking lot over to and through Garden Lake Park, and Lynx Hollow Park and the beautiful paths there. Email Nick to get on the group email list and learn the location of the next walk and any weather-related or other location changes.

Knitting Group - Every Saturday at 11am

Every Saturday at 11 our local knitting expert Sandra is at the library, she can help with pretty much any knitting question you might have, or you can also just come in and hang out and work on a project!

The image promotes a "Coffee & Books" event every Tuesday at 11:00 AM.

Coffee and Books - Tuesdays at 11:00am

Join us every Tuesday morning at 11am for coffee and books at our book club. No need to stress about finding the book club book and staying on pace with everyone else. Read what you want at your own speed and share with us when you are ready. Everyone who comes talks about the books they are reading or have recently finished. No pressure to share if you just want to join us to get ideas about new books to read.
