What’s New in August?
There is still time to sign up for the Summer Reading Program. To sign up, print out reading journals, and read about our upcoming events, go to https://www.creswell-library.org/summer-reading-program-2023. Please make sure to bring blankets to sit on for the puppet show on August 9th.
The last day to turn in Summer Reading journals and spend library dollars is Saturday, August 26th.
We are still holding Thursday storytime at Holt Park at 11am to coincide with free lunch at 11:30. Please bring blankets as the grass can be a bit wet in the morning. If the Air Quality Index (API) reaches 151 or above, we will move Storytime inside for that day.
Did you know that we're on Facebook? Find us at Creswell Library for Kids!

PreK Storytime - Thursdays at 11:00am at Holt Park
Join us for fun books, songs, and rhymes!! This storytime is intended for children in preschool but all kids and their families are welcome to join. We shoot for about 30 minutes of fun but sometimes we go a little long and sometimes just a tad short. Afterward, we will all do a fun craft. Starting in September, we will move storytime back to the library.
Babytime – Tuesdays at 10:00am in the Creswell Library
Join us on Tuesdays for songs, fingerplays, lap bounces, scarves, egg shakers, stories, and bubbles! This storytime is 20 minutes long so we can wrap up before the littlest get too squirmy.
Pajamarama Storytime – August 8th and 22nd at 6:15pm
Come dressed in your pajamas and bring your stuffies for this storytime. This storytime is a fun event for all ages and will have songs, rhymes, and picture books.
August Reads for September Book Club
Book Club for Kids will meet to chat about "When You Trap a Tiger" on 8/1 at 4pm via Zoom. Our next book is "The One and Only Ivan". We will chat about this book (which was recently made into a movie!) on 9/5 at 4pm. Read more about the book from the publisher.
Having spent twenty-seven years behind the glass walls of his enclosure in a shopping mall, Ivan has grown accustomed to humans watching him. He hardly ever thinks about his life in the jungle. Instead, Ivan occupies himself with television, his friends Stella and Bob, and painting. But when he meets Ruby, a baby elephant taken from the wild, he is forced to see their home, and his art, through new eyes.
In the tradition of timeless stories like Charlotte's Web and Stuart Little, Katherine Applegate blends humor and poignancy to create an unforgettable story of friendship, art, and hope.
Middle School Book Club
Our book club for middle schoolers will start in September. Our first book is going to be a current OBOB read.
Please email Lindsey at firstname.lastname@example.org if your child is interested in joining a book club or if you have any questions!
