What’s New in May?

Hi Friends! Apologies for the Newsletter being late!

We are doing Melty Fun Beads again! To celebrate May 4th (Star Wars Day) we will have more Star Wars patterns for you to follow!

Art with Holly is on the 18th (The third Thursday) of this month. 

Our STEAM  event is going to be at Holt Park on 5/25 in partnership with Remake Learning Days.  It starts at 2pm and goes until 5pm, so feel free to drop by whenever! We will be doing some fun building challenges with marshmallows, craft sticks, and more! This is an event for all ages.

We are doing two  Pajamarama Storytimes this month! This storytime is for the whole family and will include picture books, songs, and rhymes!

We are starting signups for our Summer Reading Program! There will be more information about it next month! If you're interested, you can find the online registration form here. All kids who sign up for the Summer Reading Program get a free book!

Thursdays for Kids

We have four events again this month for kids!

5/04 at 3:30pm – Melty Fun Beads - Place your beads, make your creations, and melt them together!

May contain: pattern, embroidery, stitch, and accessories

5/11 at 3:30pm – LEGO Club- Join us for LEGO building awesomeness! Each child that completes a project will get to put it on display in the library until the next LEGO Club.. 

5/18 at 3:30pm – Art with Holly - Holly is a local artist who generously hosts art lessons for kids at our library. Each month we will have a different activity and Holly will lead us through it one step at a time.  This event is on the third Thursday of this Month. 

5/25 at 2:00pm - Full STEAM Ahead! with Remake Learning Days. This is at Holt Park starting at 2pm. We will have some fun building challenges for all ages!

PreK Storytime - Thursdays at 10:00am in the Creswell Library

Join us for fun books, songs, and rhymes!! This storytime is intended for children in preschool but all kids and their families are welcome to join. We shoot for about 30 minutes of fun but sometimes we go a little long and sometimes just a tad short. Afterwards, we will all do a fun craft. As a reminder, Storytime is cancelled on April 20th. 

Babytime   Tuesdays at 10:00am in the Creswell Library 

Join us on Tuesdays for songs, fingerplays, lap bounces, scarves, egg shakers, stories, and bubbles! This storytime is 20 minutes long so we can wrap up before the littlest get too squirmy.

Toddler Toy Time  The third Tuesday of the month at 10:45 am in the Creswell Library

Feel free to come to Baby Storytime and then stay for this fun playtime, or just drop in! We will put out some toys during this 45-minute playtime. Suggested ages 1-3, older siblings welcome. 

Pajamarama Storytime  May 9th and 23rd at 6:15pm

Come dressed in your pajamas and bring your stuffies for this storytime. This storytime is a fun event for all ages and will have songs, rhymes, and picture books.

May Reads for June Book Club

Book Club for Kids met to chat about "Lexi Magill and the Teleportation Tournament" on 5/2 at 4pm via Zoom. Our next book is "Hoot".  We will chat about this dynamic adventure on 6/6 at 4pm Read more about the book from the publisher.

Hoot features a new kid and his new bully, alligators, some burrowing owls, a renegade eco-avenger, and several extremely poisonous snakes.


Everybody loves Mother Paula's pancakes. Everybody, that is, except the colony of cute but endangered owls that live on the building site of the new restaurant. Can the awkward new kid and his feral friend prank the pancake people out of town? Or is the owls' fate cemented in pancake batter?
