 Fear and Belonging with Dietrich Peters - 5:30pm on May 2nd

Dietrich Peters will lead a conversation about what it means to belong to a Native community and how that looks to different groups, organizations, and people. Some examples of this are blood quantum rules and the challenges of obtaining culturally significant objects. 

Poetry Reading: Jesús Sepúlveda - 5:30pm on May 3rd

 Jesús Sepúlveda is the author of seventeen books, including The Gardens of Peculiarities (2002), Espejo de las detalles / Mirror of Details (2020) and Pax Americana (2023), both published in bilingual editions in the US.

Jesús will read his poetry primarily in Spanish and will discuss his work in English.

Book Sale!

 The Friends of the Creswell Library Book Sale is running until May 11th! Prices and finds you just can't beat!

Chair Yoga - Mondays 10am - 11am

Quick update to Chair Yoga: Please bring 2 beach towels to help support some of our yoga activities.

Chair Yoga will be hosted on Monday mornings at 10am, hosted by the amazing Deanna Hoover.   Chair Yoga features 30 minutes of yoga with a chair for support; the second 30 minutes will be light mat yoga. Please bring your own mat and two yoga blocks if you have them. 

The library will be closed on May 27th for Memorial Day. There will be no Chair Yoga on the 27th.

 

Shelf Indulgence: Book Club May 6th at 5:00pm in-person and via Zoom

We select a new book to read each month. We make an effort to read from different genres each month. This month we will be reading and chatting about Promise of Blood by Brian McClellan. Email nick@creswell-library.org or call him at the library at 541-895-3053 to join.

 

Boogie's Stitching Library - May 8th at 5:00pm 

May contain: advertisement and poster

Join us for a relaxing evening of cross-stitching and chatting. We will have patterns that can be used in the library so no need to bring your own. Of course, your projects from home are welcome too!

 

Kitchen Capers - Introduction to Food Preservation: May 14th at 5pm

May contain: cutlery, fork, and spoon

This month we will learn the ins and outs of food preservation basics from our amazing and knowledgeable host, Elyse! This is a free class and you need nothing to participate. 

Literary Art: Watercolors - May 15th at 5:30pm

Art supplies with red and blue watercolor paint, a palette, and spilled pigment on paper.

An art group for adults! This month we will be working with watercolors again. We will have everything you need to complete this month's project. 

May contain: cutlery, spoon, and cup

Coffee and Books - Tuesdays at 11:00am

Join us every Tuesday morning at 11am for coffee and books at our book club. No need to stress about finding the book club book and staying on pace with everyone else. Read what you want at your own speed and share with us when you are ready. Everyone who comes talks about the books they are reading or have recently finished. No pressure to share if you just want to join us to get ideas about new books to read.
