Summer Reading Program

Crayons dancing around a crayon box with the words Reading Colors Your World

Our Summer Reading Program (SRP) is back! The format this year will look very similar to last year. There are three main parts. First, sign-up and get a free book! Second, read that book or any other book you want and log your hours with us online! Each week, everyone who submitted at least one reading log will be entered for a chance to win a prize! Finally, every week we will have a new activity or program for kids. These activities include building robots that color, elephant toothpaste, lantern decoration, and planting flowers.

You can sign-up and pick out your free book here https://forms.gle/tMkwLSQNNqMDau5K8

Starting June 28th you can submit your reading hours here https://forms.gle/vM3ih6xaQkb2wYc19

June 29th will be the first day you can pick up an activity kit. You can pick up this craft until supplies run out. Our first activity this year is building a robot that colors for you. You will need tape and paper to complete this craft. We will provide you with 1 battery, 1 small motor, a paper cup, and 3 three markers.

We are still waiting on some of our prizes to arrive, but we will share pictures with you once they have all arrived.

June reads for July Book Clubs!

May contain: person and human

Ages 7-11 can join our Book Club for Kids where we will be reading Greystone Secrets #1: The Strangers by Margaret Peterson Haddix. The Greystone kids are pretty happy with their life but when they learn about three other kids with the same first and middle names and the same birthdays they start to wonder. Things get wonky when the children discover clues, hidden rooms, and startling secrets!

The Middle School book club will be reading The War that Saved My Life by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley. Ada’s mother is ashamed of her and won’t let her leave the house. When her brother Jamie is sent away from London to escape World War 2, Ada joins him. Can Ada and Jamie find a new life away from their disparaging mother?

Teen Book Club’s selection this month is Lore by Alexandra Braken. An ancient punishment forces nine Greek gods to become mortal for a time. While mortal, anyone who kills them gains their power and immortality. Lore Perseous walked away from the hunt but now Athena, and an old friend, have given her a chance to stop the punishment for good.
