PreK Storytime - Thursdays at 11:00am at Holt Park

Join us for fun books, songs, and rhymes!! This storytime is intended for children in preschool but all kids and their families are welcome to join. We shoot for about 30 minutes of fun but sometimes we go a little long and sometimes just a tad short. Afterward, we will all do a fun craft. Starting Thursday the 20th of June, storytime will start at 11am and will be at Holt Park. If the AQI is 150 or higher, storytime will be moved indoors. Please bring a blanket to sit on since the grass may still be wet from the morning sprinklers.

Babytime   Tuesdays at 10:00am in the Creswell Library

Join us on Tuesdays for songs, fingerplays, lap bounces, scarves, egg shakers, stories, and bubbles! This storytime is 20 minutes long so we can wrap up before the littlest get too squirmy.

July Reads for August Book Club

Middle-Grade Book Club

Middle Grade Book Club (ages 10-13) meets the first Tuesday of every month at 4pm and goes for about 45 minutes. It always includes a simple activity relating to the story.

We will meet at the library on 7/2 at 4pm to chat about "The Secret Garden".

Our next book is "Baba Yaga's Assistant" by Marika McCoola. We will talk about this graphic novel on 8/6 at 4:00pm. Here is a quick blurb about this book from the publisher.

Illustration of a creepy character, possibly Baba Yaga, with a house and silhouettes in the background; the cover of "Baba Yaga's Assistant."

Most children think twice before braving a haunted wood filled with terrifying beasties to match wits with a witch, but not Masha. Her beloved grandma taught her many things: that stories are useful, that magic is fickle, that nothing is too difficult or too dirty to clean. The fearsome witch of folklore needs an assistant, and Masha needs an adventure. She may be clever enough to enter Baba Yaga's house-on-chicken-legs, but within its walls, deceit is the rule. To earn her place, Masha must pass a series of tests, outfox a territorial bear, and make dinner for her host. No easy task, with children on the menu!
