February 2023 Newsletter

Welcome...

...to our first Newsletter for Adults in quite some time! I hope to send this out once a month updating the new things going on in our library and highlight a few of the new books on our shelves. I’ll try to keep them short.

May contain: book and publication

Blind Date with a Book

Blind Date with a Book starts on February 6th! Check out one of our mystery books and give it a try. Each book will let you know what genre it is from but the book itself is a secret. Who knows, maybe you will find a new favorite! You can check out the Blind Date books until 2/17.

Books and Coffee

Join us every Tuesday morning at 11am for coffee and books at our Book Club. No need to stress about finding the book club book and staying on pace with everyone else. Read what you want at your own speed and share with us when you are ready. Everyone that comes talks about the books they are reading or have recently finished. No pressure to share if you just want to join us to get ideas about new books to read.

New Adult Book Club

We also have a more traditional book club where we all read the same book. This book club is geared toward new adults but all adults are welcome! This month we will be chatting about In the Wild Light by Jeff Zentner. The book follows 17-year-old Cash as he leaves the opioid ravaged town he grew up in for a prestigious boarding school that he would never be able to get into except his genius friend forced the school to give him a scholarship. We will be meeting on 2/14 at 5pm. Zoom attendees are welcome! Email nick@creswell-library.org to get signed up.

Medicare 101

We will play host to Medicare 101: An educational talk about how Medicare works, including rules, enrollment deadlines, and late penalties; with time for questions. Presented by licensed agents from The Insurance Place in Springfield. We will host this program twice. First on 2/21/23 at 4pm and again on 3/21/23 at 6pm.

Knitting Needles and Yarn

Knitting Group

Finally, we have our Knitting Group that meets every Saturday at 11am. Our super knowledgeable group leader is a master knitter and can help you get started or answer your toughest knitting questions. This is a relaxed informal group perfect for all skill levels. No materials are supplied by the library at this time.
