Here are the SRP Events for the Month of June:

July 2nd, 10:30am-11:30am, Holt Park (bring a blanket) - Border Collies International

These rescued Border Collies put on fun, interactive shows with sports and frisbee tricks—teaching crowds how to play with their own pups, with 15 championship wins and loads of tail-wagging talent!

July 9th, 10:30am-11:30am, Holt Park (bring a blanket)- Comedy Stunt Show with Matt Baker

Matt Baker’s show blends laugh-out-loud comedy with jaw-dropping stunts, earning him 5 Guinness World Records and a reputation for unforgettable entertainment.

July 16th, 10:30am-11:30am, Holt Park- Slime Time

Come make slime with us! We will have everything you need to transport it home safely. Plus, we will have fun D&D add ins so you can make you very own gelatinous cube.

July 23rd, 10:30am-11:30am, Holt Park- Instrument Petting Zoo

Explore a variety of orchestral instruments up close! Learn how to hold and play the violin, cello, flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, and more in this fun, hands-on experience for all ages.

July 30th, 10:30am-11:30am, Holt Park- Wacky Water Fight

The water fight is back! Grown-ups, we hope you will participate too!

New Program Alert!

We’re teaming up with Blue Barn Sanctuary to bring you Reading Buddies! This program is just right for emerging readers or any kiddo who wants to grow their reading skills and feel more confident. Did you know that reading to animals (even stuffed ones!) helps kids feel relaxed and supported?

Each session will have plenty of cuddly stuffed animals to read to, helpful volunteers, and—on most days—Blue Barn’s own superstar, Theodore Von Tater Tot!

This Program will be every 2nd and 4th Tuesday from 3:30-4:30 pm. 

Thursdays for Kids

We have four events this month for kids!

7/10 at 3:30pm - LEGO Club 

Join us for LEGO building awesomeness! Each child who completes a project will get to put it on display in the library until the next LEGO Club.

7/17 at 3:30pm – Full STEAM Ahead! - Cardboard Construction.

Explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math through exciting, hands-on projects. Use kid-friendly tools inspired by real woodworking to design, cut, and build your own cardboard creations. Come invent something amazing!

7/24 at 3:30pm – Melty Beads

You have requested more melty beads, and we are delivering! Kids (and their grown-ups, of course) can copy some suggestions or make their own. 

7/31 at 3:30pm –Dragon Eggs

Join us for a fun crafting adventure! Using Styrofoam eggs and shiny push pins, you’ll make your very own dragon egg to take home—perfect for any brave explorer hoping to Level Up!

PreK Storytime - Starting June 19th, storytime will start at 11am and be at Holt Park - bring a blanket!

Join us for fun books, songs, and rhymes!! This storytime is intended for children in preschool, but all kids and their families are welcome to join. We shoot for about 30 minutes of fun, but sometimes we go a little long and sometimes just a tad short. Afterward, we will all do a fun craft. 

Babytime  – Tuesdays at 10:00am in the Creswell Library 

Join us on Tuesdays for songs, fingerplays, lap bounces, scarves, egg shakers, stories, and bubbles! This storytime is 20 minutes long so we can wrap up before the littlest get too squirmy.

Tween Programs

7/15 at 4:00pm - Board Game Adventures

Each month, come play cooperative and competitive board games! This is the perfect time to bring some friends and make new ones. There will be plenty of new games to choose from, but you can always bring your favorites from home. Plus, we will have a D&D table (ages 8 and up). There is a limit to the number of kids who can do D&D, so kids who have signed up beforehand and are consistent will be reserved a spot. 

Middle-Grade Book Club

Middle Grade Book Club (ages 10-13) meets the first Tuesday of every month at 4pm and goes for about 45 minutes. It always includes a simple activity relating to the story. 

We will meet at the library on 7/1 at 4pm to chat about "Hatchet".

Our next book is "Dragon Pearl" by Yoon Ha Lee Paulsen. We will talk about science fiction adventure on 7/1 at 3:00pm (we are moving it one hour earlier due to National Night Out). Here is a quick blurb about this book from the publisher.
