What’s New in December?
The Library will be hosting Mrs. Claus in the library from 1-3 pm on Saturday, December 10th as part of the Annual Winter Lights festivities. There will be stories, marshmallow snowmen, and hot chocolate. Yum!
Want to help make the library a winter wonderland? Join us on December 1st and make decorations using beads and pipe cleaners.
We will be making graham cracker houses! Your kids will have fun decorating this sugary spectacle.
Thursdays for Kids
We have four events again this month for kids!
12/01 at 3:30 - Beading Winter Decorations - Using pipe cleaners and beads, we will create fun wintery-themed decorations! Leave one in the library and it'll be on display all through December!
12/08 at 3:30pm – Lego Club - Join us for Lego building awesomeness! Each child that completes a project will get to put it on display in the library until the next Lego Club!
12/15 at 3:30pm– Graham Cracker Houses- Crafty Kids - Instead of gingerbread, we will be building and decorating graham cracker houses!
12/22 at 3:30pm – Art with Holly - Holly is a local artist who generously hosts art lessons for kids at our library. Each month we will have a different activity and Holly will lead us through it one step at a time.
PreK Storytime - Thursdays at 10:00am in the Creswell Library
Join us for fun books, songs, and rhymes in the park! This storytime is intended for children in preschool but all kids and their families are welcome to join. We shoot for about 30 minutes of fun but sometimes we go a little long and sometimes just a tad short.
Babytime – Tuesdays at 10:00am in the Creswell Library
Join us on Tuesdays for songs, fingerplays, lap bounces, scarves, egg shakers, stories, and bubbles! This storytime is 20 minutes long so we can wrap up before the littlest get too squirmy.
December Reads for January Book Club
Book Club for Kids will meet to chat about "Winterhouse" on 12/7 at 4pm via Zoom. Our next book is "The House with Chicken Legs". We will chat about this fun read on 1/4 at 4pm. Read more about the book from the publisher.
"Twelve-year-old Marinka dreams of a normal life, where her house stays in one place long enough for her to make friends. But her house has chicken legs and moves on without warning. The only people Marinka meets are dead, and they disappear when her grandmother, Baba Yaga, guides them through The Gate. Marinka wants to change her destiny, but her house has other ideas."
Middle School Book Club will be taking a short break for the start of the school year with plans to start again soon!
