The Intergenerational Reading Collaboration (IRC)
The IRC needs more volunteers! At Creslane Elementary School the number of children at the end of third grade who test as proficient readers is less than 50%! Would you like to help change that? Click here to read a bit more about the program and how you can get involved!

BOBA is Back! (Battle of the Books for Adults)

BOBA is our OBOB for Adults program. Basically, think of it as a trivia night but all the questions are from 8 books. Teams of no more than four will read the books, then on November 14th, we will host our trivia battle! Each question will have a specific answer from the book in plain text.
This year's book list is:
Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi
The Wedding People by Allison Espach
Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir
The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune
Firekeeper's Daughter by Angeline Boulley
Fever Beach by Carl Hiaasen
Wild Dark Shore by Charlotte McConaghy
Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin
Note: We will not be doing BOBA more than once a year. We are doing it again so soon because we had several requests to move our competition so that it wasn't running at the same time as OBOB.

Tech Help Office Hours
Thursday, 11/12, 1:00 - 2:00pm
Do you need help with a new phone? Stuck setting up your email? Can't get your Bluetooth headphones to work? Don't know what Bluetooth is, but want to know? Swing by for help with your tech, questions, and problems. We won't be able to help you with everything, but we will do our best!
Blood Drive
Monday, 11/16, 12pm - 6pm - Please sign up.
Thanksgiving is a season of gratitude, generosity, and community. One hour of your time can make a lifesaving difference for patients in need of blood transfusions. While many holiday traditions bring us together, donating blood is one way we can extend that spirit of giving beyond our own table. This holiday season, you can help ensure local hospitals have the blood patients need for surgeries, cancer care, and trauma. Schedule your appointment today.
Literary Art: Peg Loom
Wednesday, 11/18, 5pm
We had planned to host a Peg Loom Workshop this month but, unfortunately, our teacher is no longer available on the 21st! We will be hosting Peg Loom on October 18th. For this month, we will be doing.... I don't know yet! But it will be fun, relaxing, and easy to do while chatting with friends. Hope to see you there!
Final Film Friday: Skipping November & December
We are going to pause our Final Friday program because of the holiday. We will be back in January!
Shelf Indulgence: Book Club

Please bring 2 beach towels to help support some of our yoga activities.
Chair Yoga, hosted by the amazing Deanna Hoover. Chair Yoga features 20 minutes of yoga in a chair, 20 minutes standing with a chair for support, and 20 minutes of light mat yoga. Please bring your own mat and two yoga blocks if you have them.
The first Monday of the month we will have coffee and tea available for people to sit down after yoga and chat with Deanna and others from the yoga group.
Walking Group
Fridays at 9:30am
Did you know that the library has been working with OHSU for two years on a walking group study? During the study the group wasn't open to the public, but the study is done, and we can now welcome everyone at our walking group! Join a cheerful group of walkers for Friday morning strolls. Each walk is usually under an hour and over flat land. Sometimes we go a little long, but more often we go a little short. Typically, our walks start at one of three locations: the library and the surrounding neighborhoods, Tractor Supply parking lot over to and through Garden Lake Park, and Lynx Hollow Park and the beautiful paths there. Email Nick to get on the group email list and learn the location of the next walk and any weather-related or other location changes.
Knitting Group
Every Saturday at 11am
Every Saturday at 11 our local knitting expert Sandra is at the library, she can help with pretty much any knitting question you might have, or you can also just come in and hang out and work on a project!

Coffee and Books
Tuesdays at 11:00am
Join us every Tuesday morning at 11am for coffee and books at our book club. No need to stress about finding the book club book and staying on pace with everyone else. Read what you want at your own speed and share with us when you are ready. Everyone who comes talks about the books they are reading or have recently finished. No pressure to share if you just want to join us to get ideas about new books to read.
