Starting on 6/20, Thursday storytime will be moved to Harry Holt Park and start at 11am. Please bring a blanket to sit on since the grass could still be damp from the early morning sprinklers.

Thursdays for Kids

We have four events this month for kids!

6/6 at 3:30pm - No Sew Sock Worms - Do you have any mismatched socks? Turn them into sock worms! If you don't have socks, we will have some for you to choose from.

6/13 at 3:30pm – LEGO Club – Join us for LEGO building awesomeness! Each child who completes a project will get to put it on display in the library until the next LEGO Club.

6/20  at 3:30pm – Full STEAM Ahead! - "Stained Glass" Suncatchers - Using glue and food coloring, you can create suncatchers! You will probably need to leave them at the library for a day or two for them to completely dry.

6/27 at 3:30pm – Art With Holly – Holly is a local artist who generously hosts art lessons for kids at our library. Each month we will have a different activity and Holly will lead us through it one step at a time.

PreK Storytime - Thursdays at 10:00am in the Creswell Library

Join us for fun books, songs, and rhymes!! This storytime is intended for children in preschool but all kids and their families are welcome to join. We shoot for about 30 minutes of fun but sometimes we go a little long and sometimes just a tad short. Afterward, we will all do a fun craft. Starting Thursday the 20th of June, storytime will start at 11am and will be at Holt Park. If the AQI is 150 or higher, storytime will be moved indoors. Please bring a blanket to sit on since the grass may still be wet from the morning sprinklers.

Babytime   Tuesdays at 10:00am in the Creswell Library

Join us on Tuesdays for songs, fingerplays, lap bounces, scarves, egg shakers, stories, and bubbles! This storytime is 20 minutes long so we can wrap up before the littlest get too squirmy.

June Reads for July Book Club

Middle-Grade Book Club

Middle Grade Book Club (ages 10-13) meets the first Tuesday of every month at 4pm and goes for about 45 minutes. It always includes a simple activity relating to the story.

We will meet at the library on 6/4 at 4pm to chat about "The Fourteenth Goldfish". Our next book is "The Secret Garden" by Frances Hodgson Burnet. We will talk about this book on 7/2 at 4:00pm. Here is a quick blurb about this book from the publisher.

Illustrated book cover "The Secret Garden" with a girl standing by a gate, text promoting the book and a related movie.

Mary Lennox, a spoiled, ill-tempered, and unhealthy child, comes to live with her reclusive uncle in Misselthwaite Manor on England’s Yorkshire moors after the death of her parents. There she meets a hearty housekeeper and her spirited brother, a dour gardener, a cheerful robin, and her wilful, hysterical, and sickly cousin, Master Colin, whose wails she hears echoing through the house at night.
With the help of the robin, Mary finds the door to a secret garden, neglected and hidden for years. When she decides to restore the garden in secret, the story becomes a charming journey into the places of the heart, where faith restores health, flowers refresh the spirit, and the magic of the garden, coming to life anew, brings health to Colin and happiness to Mary.
