July 2025 Newsletter

Happy 4th of July! July Newsletter. Creswell Library with fireworks and rockets.

Expanded Library Hours! Starting July 7th.

We are excited to announce the normalization and expansion of our hours! Starting Monday, July 7th, we will be open from 10am - 6pm, Monday - Saturday. No longer do you have to juggle different start and end times. While we won't be open until 7pm Tuesday-Thursday, we are gaining three extra hours of library service by adding two more hours on Monday, Friday, and Saturday. We hope this will make the library easier to use for everyone.

New Streaming Service - Kanopy starts July 1st

Explore streaming with Kanopy: Movies, Documentaries, World Cinema, TV Series, & more. Films vary by country and library.

Starting July 1st, everyone with a Creswell Library card will be able to access Kanopy, a video streaming service! You can access Kanopy on your computer, tablet, phone, or TV, and it is completely free to you! Each movie or show you stream will have a ticket cost, and each cardholder will have access to 25 tickets each month. The exception is the kids' section, where there are no tickets, just unlimited streaming! Download the app or click here to check out Kanopy! https://creswelllibrary.kanopy.com/

Summer Reading Programs are ongoing!

Both our adult and youth summer reading programs begin on June 9th! This year, the theme is "Level Up at Your Library," so we are bringing back our reading challenge gameboard. However, this year, you get to pick a reading type that lines up with one of five fantasy-game roles. Do you read like a fighter, wizard, cleric, bard, or rogue? Find out which class fits you best and take on that unique reading challenge! Adult sign-ups begin in June. Youth can sign up for their SRP right now!

Walking Group - Fridays at 9:30am (Not of July 4th)

Did you know that the library has been working with OHSU for two years on a walking group study? During the study the group wasn't open to the public but the study is done and we can now welcome everyone at our walking group! Join a cheerful group of walkers for Friday morning strolls. Each walk is usually under an hour and over flat land. Sometimes we go a little long, but more often we go a little short. Typically, our walks start at one of three locations: the library and the surrounding neighborhoods, Tractor Supply parking lot over to and through Garden Lake Park, and Lynx Hollow Park and the beautiful paths there. Email Nick to get on the group email list and learn the location of the next walk and any weather-related or other location changes.

Tentative walk schedule for July:

7/11 - Start at Creswell Library

7/18 - Start at Tractor Supply

7/25 - Start at Lynx Hollow Park
