What’s New in February?

There is no kids event on 2/1.

Bonus Round! We will have TWO LEGO Clubs this month. Our second LEGO Club is 2/28.

Thursdays for Kids

We have four events this month for kids.

2/8 at 3:30pm – LEGO Club – Join us for LEGO building awesomeness! Each child who completes a project will get to put it on display in the library until the next LEGO Club.

2/15 at 3:30pm – Full STEAM Ahead! - Binary Beading -  Steam stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Science. This month, we are using colored beads and binary code to create bracelets with secret messages with an optional Valentine's Day twist.

PreK Storytime - Thursdays at 10:00am in the Creswell Library

Join us for fun books, songs, and rhymes!! This storytime is intended for children in preschool but all kids and their families are welcome to join. We shoot for about 30 minutes of fun but sometimes we go a little long and sometimes just a tad short. Afterward, we will all do a fun craft.

Babytime   Tuesdays at 10:00am in the Creswell Library

Join us on Tuesdays for songs, fingerplays, lap bounces, scarves, egg shakers, stories, and bubbles! This storytime is 20 minutes long so we can wrap up before the littlest get too squirmy.

Pajama-rama Storytime  February 13th and 27th at 6:15pm

Come dressed in your pajamas and bring your stuffies for this storytime. This storytime is a fun event for all ages and will have songs, rhymes, and picture books.

May contain: plush and toy

February's Reads for March Book Club

Middle Grade Book Club

Middle Grade Book Club (ages 10-13) meets the first Tuesday of every month at 4pm and goes for about 45 minutes. It always includes a simple activity relating to the story.

We will meet at the library on 2/6 at 4pm to chat about "Tidesong". Our next book is "The Great Shelby Holmes" by Elizabeth Eulberg. We will talk about this compelling mystery on 3/5 at 4:00pm. Here is a quick blurb about this book from the publisher.

Book cover for "The Great Shelby Holmes" with two kids and a dog on stairs, detective theme.

Shelby Holmes is not your average sixth grader. She's nine years old, barely four feet tall, and the best detective her Harlem neighborhood has ever seen--always using logic and a bit of pluck (which yes, some might call “bossiness”) to solve the toughest crimes.
When eleven-year-old John Watson moves downstairs, Shelby finds something that's eluded her up till now: a friend. The easy-going John isn't sure of what to make of Shelby, but he soon finds himself her most-trusted (read: only) partner in a dog-napping case that'll take both their talents to crack.?
