PreK Storytime - Thursdays at 11:00am at Holt Park

Join us for fun books, songs, and rhymes!! This storytime is intended for children in preschool but all kids and their families are welcome to join. We shoot for about 30 minutes of fun but sometimes we go a little long and sometimes just a tad short. Afterward, we will all do a fun craft. Starting Thursday the 20th of June, storytime will start at 11am and will be at Holt Park. If the AQI is 150 or higher, storytime will be moved indoors. Please bring a blanket to sit on since the grass may still be wet from the morning sprinklers.

Babytime   Tuesdays at 10:00am in the Creswell Library

Join us on Tuesdays for songs, fingerplays, lap bounces, scarves, egg shakers, stories, and bubbles! This storytime is 20 minutes long so we can wrap up before the littlest get too squirmy.

August Reads for September Book Club

Middle-Grade Book Club

Middle Grade Book Club (ages 10-13) meets the first Tuesday of every month at 4pm and goes for about 45 minutes. It always includes a simple activity relating to the story.

We will meet at the library on 8/6 at 4pm to chat about "Baba Yaga's Assistant".

Our next book is "Ugly" by Robert Hoge. We will talk about this true story on 9/3 at 4:00pm. Here is a quick blurb about this book from the publisher.

A book cover with the title "UGLY" and a simple face drawing, promoting a memoir about courage and empathy.

When Robert Hoge was born, he had a tumor the size of a tennis ball in the middle of his face and short, twisted legs. Surgeons removed the tumor and made him a new nose from one of his toes.  Amazingly, he survived—with a face that would never be the same. Strangers stared at him, kids called him names, and adults could be cruel in their own ways. Everybody seemed to agree that Robert was "ugly." But Robert refused to let his face dictate his entire life. Then, when Robert came face to face with the biggest decision of his life, he followed his heart.

This poignant memoir about overcoming bullying and thriving with disabilities shows that what makes us “ugly” also makes us who we are.
